COURSE OUTLINE
 

This training session will consist of the why's and how's of using wood fibre insulation. 

Note this course is not designed to teach you how to build but rather how to design and incorporate wood fibre insulation as part of your building thermal envelope strategy.

08:30 - 9:00  Meet and Greet

09:00 - 12:00 Course starts (15min break included)

 


This first section will cover

  • The different wood fibre products + their specs+ building physics

  • Their sustainability and health advantages over synthetic insulation product

  • Incorporating wood-fibre insulation in Timber, CLT, Masonry, Steel wall + roof assemblies 

  • Design and installation considerations

  • Installation best practices

  • Overview of code compliance

12:30 - 13:00am - Lunch break

13:00am -16:00 (15min break included)

This afternoon session will be an actual hands-on training session covering the handling and installation methods of wood-fibre insulation.

  • How to  store & handle the products

  • Cutting tools and cutting technique used with wood-fibre

  • Installing methods on timber frames / masonry substrate / steel studs

  • Overview of fixings / fasteners 

  • Review of sealing products + best practices for sealing considerations

  • Overview and best practice for rendering the boards
