Provides weather protection for up to 8 weeks during construction; helping to keep your building dry
-
Reducing thermal / cold bridging in the building elements
-
Creating a warm roof
-
Diffusion-open insulation materials for safe moisture management
-
Providing an additional water & wind protection layer
-
Reducing external noise pollution
Our selection of sarking boards
We carry the Steico Universal, Duo Dry & Special Dry wood-fibre boards.
These boards are classified as sheathing and sarking boards, meaning they can support a load, and are also rain proof. i.e., water-repellent. Rainwater’s surface tension cannot break through sarking boards.
Format and thickness
Typical formats for the sarking boards are 2230mm x 600mm
Thicknesses from 22mm to 180mm are available
R values
R values vary from 0.45 to 4.50
Fixing the boards
A batten system is used to fix the boards to the rafters. The space between the battens provides an air gap for air flow and for the evaporation of any trapped humidity in the roof envelope.
Typical roof detail
Below are some generic details for tiled roofs. However, same principal applies for roofs with metal sheets.
Insulating between the rafters with bulk insulation - Flex036
We carry the Steico Flex036 wood-fibre insulation batts. Flex036 are breathable (diffusion open) wood-fibre panels that are placed between the roof rafters or in the ceiling area.
The batts range from 40mm - 240mm thick (R values range from R1.10 to R5.55)
